It has been brought to the Society’s attention about the recent environmental damage done to a piece of land that is home to wildlife and also lies within Wirral’s Green Belt. ‘Gilroy Scrape’ is located just to the North of Gilroy Road in West Kirby, adjacent to the Gilroy Nature Park and ‘The Langfields’

Bye-Bye Ellesmere Port Green Belt?
The issue of the ‘Surprise’ approval of the housing on Green Belt land to fund the Vauxhall Sports club is being pursued with the local campaigners, however it is feared that there is little that can be done at this late stage. The Wirral Society attended the meeting at Melrose Hall 02/09/2015 where local residents has the opportunity to hear the latest state of the Hoylake Golf Resort proposals from Council representatives.
The Wirral Society are glad that Wirral Council has been considering how to develop Hoylake and the surrounding area.
